Because we are advocates for boaters all around Lake Michigan and its tributaries, we welcome existing clubs and individuals alike to become a part of the LMYA.
We have two types of memberships
For boating clubs
Club membership
$100 per year
Network with other clubs and enhance your members’ boating experiences. We advocate for our member clubs, keeping them informed about boating-related legislation. We also promote cruising and exploration on Lake Michigan, and our Cruising Cards attract new visitors to member clubs. Be a part of:
- Increased networking and visibility for your club
- Advocacy and representation on boating legislation
- Attracting new visitors to your club by offering a benefit on our LMYA Cruising Card (optional).
For individuals
Sustaining membership
$30 per year or $400 for lifetime membership
For a low annual cost, individuals may become sustaining members of the LMYA and support the good work of the association, but also enjoy many added benefits:
- Access to an inclusive and friendly boating community
- Opportunities for networking and social events
- An LMYA Cruising Card for discounts on fuel and dockage
What is an LMYA Crusing Card?
The LMYA works with clubs and boaters to offer a set of discounts and benefits at various locations around Lake Michigan. Cruising Cards are issued to Sustaining Members at the annual and lifetime levels.
Examples of Cruising Card benefits offered by various clubs:
- One night free dockage and one free drink per yacht club member
- Two free drinks at the bar
- Second night free dockage, or second night half price
- Free pumpout with fuel purchase
